The Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is established in 2015 as an initiative within the public universities, aiming to coordinate content of “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” and scientific research in these subjects, build a culture of entrepreneurship within the Ege University Research and Innovation ecosystem as a single-point. It is designed to develop and inspire undergraduate and graduate level students with an interest in starting or developing innovative ventures aiming to significant long-term socio-economic impact and contribute to employment creation.
The program offers four elective courses including Research and Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship and Introduction to IPR, Commercialization of Innovation and Business Modelling especially designed for 3rd and 4th grade college students. Department will increase the number of courses and expand Entrepreneurship curriculum to meet student demands in coming years.
The department collaborates with Ege University’s Technology Transfer Office and Ege University Technology Development Zone (Ege Teknopark) to provide easy access to national and international innovation and R&D funds for students. (EU, KOSGEB, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, TUBITAK etc.)
